We're going to offer low-cost membership options to help us fund the website.

Authors & PAs: would be given the option to add marketing images to their book, series, author pages, and events. We may also offer promo opportunities in the future. We're thinking something along the lines of $10/yr. 

Readers: we're still trying to think of what kind of reward we could offer readers. Free membership. Coming soon.

Bookstores: can add and update their bookstore. Free membership. Coming soon.

Right now, costs are pretty low:

Hosting: $48/yr
Domain: $24
SSL certificate w/ insurance: $149/yr
Theme purchase: $39
Misc: $200/yr

There may be extra expenses as the site grows, such as needing to change the hosting plan.
